Job Description
Install and maintain audio visual equipment including display devices, projectors, televisions, camera systems, video teleconferencing systems (VTC), microphones and speakers.
Provide excellent equipment services to meet client expectations.
Perform equipment storage and transportation activities in safe and secure manner.
Perform inventory management of equipment, wirings, and accessories to avoid any shortages.
Setup and operate audio visual equipment for trainings, presentations, meetings and conferences.
Perform equipment additions, removals, repairs, replacements and inspections.
Test equipment to ensure they are in good and safe working conditions.
Setup and Operation of AV Equipment
Equipment Setup: Set up and install AV equipment, including microphones, speakers, projectors, screens, cameras, and lighting systems, based on the event or production requirements.
Sound and Video Systems: Ensure that audio and video systems are working effectively. This may involve adjusting sound levels, video feeds, and other equipment to ensure the event or performance runs smoothly.
Testing Equipment: Perform tests to ensure all AV equipment functions as expected before the event or presentation begins.
Operation During Events: Operate the AV equipment during live events, including adjusting sound levels, lighting, and video feeds in real-time, as necessary.
Live Troubleshooting: Quickly address any technical issues that arise during an event, such as audio glitches, video disruptions, or equipment malfunctions.
Proficient in A/V repair and maintenance plus basic knowledge of one other building operations skill set
The ability to use all general repair tools, read shop drawings and specifications, make rough estimates of required materials.
The ability to work independently with good interpersonal skills
A creative, practical and pro-active approach to problem solving
An energetic and dynamic personality
Qualifications
Diploma in Electronics, related technical or trades certification
Experience
At least 2 years’ experience as a service technician, preferably in the hospitality.
Maintenance and Repair
Regular Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance on AV equipment, including cleaning, inspecting, and testing equipment to ensure proper function.
Repairs: Diagnose and repair faulty AV equipment. This might involve fixing audio systems, replacing broken parts, or troubleshooting issues with visual equipment.
Upgrading Systems: Stay updated with technological advances and assist in upgrading systems and equipment when necessary.
Event Support
Client Consultation: Work with event organizers or clients to determine specific technical requirements for each event or production, including sound needs, video setup, and lighting design.
Pre-Event Planning: Attend meetings to discuss event logistics, AV requirements, and any potential challenges that may arise. Ensure that all equipment is prepared and tested in advance.
On-Site Support: Provide on-site AV support during events, conferences, or meetings, assisting speakers, performers, or presenters with microphone setup, presentation materials, and technical requirements.
