Job Description
The School is seeking a Lecturer (Level B) to support highquality teaching and to carry out activities to maintain and develop scholarly and/or professional activities related to the discipline of Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
This teaching focused position is expected to perform full academic responsibilities and related administration for the coordination of courses and programs.
The Schools teaching activities are diverse: we deliver courses on campus and online. On campus facetoface teaching is required and the work patterns for the position is expected to reflect the teaching requirements of the role.
Teaching focused Lecturers are principally engaged with a maximum 70 teaching profile with the remaining work allocation assigned to research/scholarship and service.
Key responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Foster an outstanding student experience and encourage active participation and engagement in learning and teaching across the spectrum of the Universitys undergraduate and postgraduate program suite facilitating high quality studentcentred learning activities.
- Support high quality learning and teaching outcomes for students evidenced by technology enhanced learning problem oriented authentic learning and assessment practices.
- Continuously improve teaching practice through professional development and critical reflection informed by a range of evaluation approaches.
- Provide educational contributions through responsibility for academic courses including undertaking responsibilities aligned with the role of course convenor.
- Contribute to the enhancement of the School/Department standing and reputation by promoting educational activities with external communities.
This is a continuing full time position and will be primarily based at the Griffith University Gold Coast campus. As Griffith is a multicampus University you may be required to work across other campus locations.
Griffith Universitys campuses are located on the lands of the Yugarabul Yuggera Jagera Turrbal Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.
Salary Range
The fulltime equivalent base salary for an Academic Lecturer (Level B) is in the range $110464 $131180 per annum 17 superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $129243 $153481 per annum.
Qualifications :
The successful candidate will hold:
- A doctoral or masters qualification or
- Equivalent accreditation and standing with 6 years of experience and/or
- Significant progress towards completion of a doctoral degree in a relevant discipline or field.
About You
The candidate should have the following knowledge and skills in electric machines renewable energy generators and storage power electronics and machine drives and AC/DC Microgrids:
- Electric machine design and simulation using Finite Element Method (FEM) based Ansys and COMSOL software;
- Power electronics circuit design for highpower DC/DC converter DC/AC inverter machine drives and EV motor drives;
- Familiar with power electronics circuit design and simulation tools;
- Microgrid design and simulation for grid and offgrid connection using Solar PV inverter wind turbine and DC/DC converter for battery energy storage system.
Additionally the candidate should demonstrate the following:
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in teaching and curriculum or program development at the tertiary education level with a proven ability in the administration of University courses.
- Record showing supervision of fourth year and postgraduate research students to completion.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability and commitment to work in a collegial manner and contribute to the positive culture and aspirations of the School and University including collaborating with other staff participation on committees and contributing to the marketing of school programs.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver highquality teaching and to engage students effectively
- Proven ability to develop and implement innovative curriculum and teaching materials
- Demonstrated experience in providing academic support and mentoring to students
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and engagement in scholarly activities relevant to teaching
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to interdisciplinary projects
