Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

JASARA PMC is seeking a dedicated and skilled Payroll Lead to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all payroll functions, ensuring accurate processing and compliance with payroll regulations. You will play a crucial role in managing payroll operations and leading a team to ensure our employees are paid accurately and on time.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and oversee the complete payroll process, including the collection, entry, and processing of payroll data
Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations
Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and benefits
Prepare payroll reports and analyses for management review
Implement and maintain payroll policies and procedures to enhance efficiency
Collaborate with HR and accounting teams to ensure alignment of payroll data and financial records
Lead, mentor, and develop payroll team members for professional growth
Conduct regular audits of payroll processes and data to ensure accuracy and compliance
Payroll Management and Processing
Oversee Payroll Processing: Manage the entire payroll process for the company, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time. This includes processing salaries, wages, bonuses, commissions, and deductions.
Verify Payroll Data: Ensure that all payroll data (hours worked, overtime, deductions, benefits, etc. is collected, verified, and entered correctly into the payroll system.
Calculate Payroll: Supervise the calculation of gross pay, deductions (taxes, retirement contributions, benefits, etc., and net pay for all employees.
Resolve Payroll Discrepancies: Investigate and resolve any payroll discrepancies or issues reported by employees, ensuring swift resolution and minimal disruption.
Final Payroll Processing: Ensure timely and accurate final payments to employees, including any terminations or severances.


Desired candidate profile

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field
A minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll management or a similar role
Strong understanding of payroll systems and tax regulations
Proficiency with payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
Strong leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team
Experience with payroll audits and compliance procedures
Ability to maintain confidentiality and execute tasks with a high level of professionalism
Team Supervision
Manage Payroll Team: Supervise and lead a team of payroll specialists, ensuring that tasks are assigned effectively and that the team meets deadlines.
Training and Development: Train new team members on payroll processes, software, and legal compliance. Provide ongoing professional development for the payroll team.
Quality Assurance: Ensure that the payroll team adheres to company policies and procedures, and maintain high accuracy and efficiency standards in payroll processing.
Compliance and Legal Adherence
Ensure Compliance: Ensure that payroll is processed in compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws, labor laws, and regulations. Stay updated on changes in payroll regulations and tax laws.
Tax Filings and Reporting: Oversee the accurate and timely submission of payroll taxes, including income tax, Social Security, Medicare, unemployment insurance, and other statutory deductions.
Benefits and Deductions Management: Ensure that benefits (health insurance, retirement plans, etc. are accurately applied and deductions are processed correctly.
