Job Title: Senior DevOps Engineer
Location: Brussels
About the Client: Our client is responsible for managing applications that control and monitor train traffic in realtime. Their systems are missioncritical supporting employees in signal boxes and Central Dispatch with a 24/7 oncall service ensuring operational reliability. They are seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to enhance their DevOps capabilities and drive automation across the domain of realtime rail traffic control in Belgium.

Your Role & Responsibilities:
Support development teams with DevOps expertise and contribute to all DevOps initiatives.
Collaborate with system & infrastructure teams on server connectivity virtualisation performance availability and security enhancements.
Work closely with stakeholders including Product Owners Developers Testers and crossdepartmental SPOCs.
Coach and mentor junior DevOps engineers fostering knowledgesharing and best practices.
Monitor and lead DevOps initiatives ensuring seamless CI/CD processes.
Automate CI/CD pipelines and installation procedures.
Develop and implement Disaster Recovery Plans (DRP).
Prepare and present sprint demos and maintain technical documentation.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues ensuring system stability and performance.
Participate in 24/7 standby duty after comprehensive training.
Requirements
MustHave Skills & Experience:
Education & Experience:
Higher relevant IT qualification (Bachelor s degree minimum Master s preferred).
At least 8 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer.
At least 5 years of experience in Agile/Scrum within a software development environment.
Excellent command of English (spoken and written).
Technical Expertise:
Strong expertise in Ansible (minimum 8 years of experience).
Experience with AWX (minimum 3 years).
Proficiency in GIT (minimum 8 years of experience).
Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools (Jenkins GitLab) with at least 8 years of experience.
Extensive experience with virtualisation and containerisation (Docker Kubernetes OpenShift minimum 8 years).
Strong scripting skills in Bash and Python (minimum 8 years).
Expertise in Linux services (minimum 8 years).
Desirable Skills & Knowledge:
HAProxy Keepalived.
Databases: MySQL Oracle PostgreSQL MariaDB.
Monitoring tools: Grafana Zabbix.
Security concepts: SSL Certificates.
Business Intelligence/Data stores: ElasticSearch Kibana Kafka.
Web Application Servers: WebLogic JBoss Tomcat Apache.
Linux & Windows Server OS administration.
Web services concepts: SOAP REST.
Networking concepts: LAN WAN TCP/IP Load balancing Firewalls.
Project & issue tracking tools: JIRA Agile Xray Confluence.
Experience with realtime applications high availability and disaster recovery concepts.
