Job Description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Tower Hamlets to assist with the appointment of a Service Design and Improvement on a 2month contract highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: 27.36 35.73 per Hour

Summary:

We are seeking a Service Design and Improvement Officer to lead and deliver service design initiatives ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and legislative changes. In this role you will collaborate across departments utilizing bestpractice service design methodologies to enhance processes and drive continuous improvement. You will work closely with project sponsors and stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions that meet the needs of the service and its users while ensuring financial accountability and efficient delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Service Design & Project Management: Scope plan and deliver service design and improvement initiatives using accredited project management methodologies.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration: Work inclusively across teams and service boundaries to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Analysis & Process Improvement: Apply service design disciplines including business analysis process modeling and Lean methodologies. Document and analyze findings to identify and implement operational improvements.
  • Performance Tracking & Reporting: Develop and maintain project documentation including business cases RAID logs and decision logs. Provide timely reports to governance boards track project progress and implement mitigation plans.
  • Corporate Responsibilities: Promote councilwide priorities and outcomes while fostering a culture of innovation and sustainability. Support service reviews and transformation projects ensuring alignment with corporate goals.

Qualifications:

  • Strong project management skills with knowledge of accredited methodologies (e.g. PRINCE2 Agile).
  • Expertise in business analysis process mapping and Lean methodologies.
  • Ability to engage and manage diverse stakeholders across organizational boundaries.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills with experience in leading workshops.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with a userfocused approach.

Essential:

  • Experience working within a local government or public sector environment.
  • Knowledge of the London Borough of Tower Hamlets priorities and strategic direction.
  • Familiarity with Corporate PMO guidelines and procedures.

  • You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
  • You should have right to work in U.K
