Job Description:

Overview:
Govind & Bala Associates is seeking a qualified and experienced Senior Accountant Manager Level to join our team in Mylapore Chennai. The ideal candidate should have 5 years of experience in accounting and finance with the ability to lead and manage accounting functions at a senior level. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to take on managerial responsibilities and contribute to the companys financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Financial Management:

    • Oversee and manage the daytoday accounting operations including general ledger accounts payable accounts receivable and payroll.
    • Prepare and review monthly quarterly and annual financial statements and reports.
    • Ensure all financial activities comply with statutory and regulatory requirements.
    • Manage tax filings returns and audits ensuring compliance with Indian tax laws.
  2. Accounting Supervision:

    • Supervise and guide a team of accountants ensuring accuracy and efficiency in their work.
    • Monitor team performance and provide training mentorship and development support.
    • Ensure all accounting processes are followed and optimize workflows for better efficiency.
  3. Budgeting and Forecasting:

    • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
    • Monitor financial performance against budget providing detailed variance analysis and recommending corrective actions.
  4. Internal Controls and Compliance:

    • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial data.
    • Conduct periodic reviews of accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
    • Coordinate and liaise with external auditors for yearend audits and resolve any audit queries.
  5. Financial Analysis and Reporting:

    • Provide detailed analysis of financial data trends and operational performance to senior management.
    • Prepare customized financial reports for management highlighting key financial metrics and performance indicators.
    • Support management in decisionmaking by offering financial insights and recommendations.
  6. Cash Flow and Fund Management:

    • Oversee cash flow management ensuring adequate funds for daily operations and company growth.
    • Coordinate with banks and other financial institutions to manage company accounts and investments effectively.
  7. Financial Strategy & Improvement:

    • Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement financial strategies for business growth.
    • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes reduce costs and enhance profitability.
Requirements:
  • Education: A Bachelors or Masters degree in Accounting Finance or a related field. Professional accounting certifications (CA CMA or equivalent) are a plus.

  • Experience: 5 years of experience in accounting with at least 2 years in a managerial or senior accountant role.

  • Technical Skills:

    • Strong knowledge of accounting software (Tally QuickBooks or equivalent) and MS Excel.

    • Proficient in Indian tax laws GST and statutory compliance.

    • Indepth understanding of financial statements budgeting and forecasting.

  • Leadership: Proven experience in managing and supervising a team of accountants.

  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • ProblemSolving: Ability to handle complex financial issues provide solutions and recommend improvements.

  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial reporting and recordkeeping.
