We are seeking a Quality Lab Supervisor who will be responsible for overseeing laboratory operations and ensuring that products meet quality standards throughout the development and manufacturing processes. Key responsibilities and qualifications for this role include:
Key Responsibilities:
- Laboratory Management: Supervise daily laboratory activities ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety protocols. Oversee maintenance quality control and validation of laboratory instruments and procedures.
- Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP): Lead APQP processes Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and control plans. Serve as the primary liaison for APQP/Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) activities facilitating problemsolving for design validation (DV) process validation (PV) and customer launch issues.
- Quality Assurance: Implement and manage quality control systems to ensure continuous production of products that meet or exceed customer expectations. Conduct process audits to verify accuracy and compliance with established procedures.
- Team Leadership: Provide clinical and administrative oversight to laboratory personnel including mentoring training and performance evaluations. Establish training goals for new hires and ensure timely completion of departmental reviews.
Requirements
Grade 12
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in quality lab management within a manufacturing environment preferably in the automotive industry.
Injection moulding experience preferred
Familiarity with APQP PPAP DFMEA PFMEA and control plan preparation is essential.
Quality Planning MSA Dimensional Analysis and Capability Studies experience
Strong understanding of quality assurance methodologies including Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Root Cause Analysis.
Proficiency in relevant software tools such as ComputerAided Design (CAD) and data analysis programs
Tooling background will be an advantage
Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams effectively with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
