You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe Typhoon Qualified Instructor Pilot will be responsible for the delivery of air and ground based pilot training to QEAF personnel, utilising the Typhoon aircraft and Qatar Mission Training Simulators and teaching devices.
They will hold the position of an airborne Instructor Pilot with the QEAF Typhoon squadron. The incumbent will be responsible for the delivery of Convex Training to Instructor Pilots, and subsequently, academic, and flying training to QEAF Typhoon student pilots. This will enable the build-up and sustainment of QEAF Typhoon Force pilot strength and operational capability.
Pilot Training and Instruction
Flight Training: Conduct flight training sessions with trainee pilots to teach them the operational capabilities of the Typhoon. This includes both basic and advanced flying techniques, emergency procedures, and specific mission types.
Instruction on Systems and Procedures: Train pilots on the operation of the Typhoon's avionics, weapon systems, navigation systems, and other critical aircraft subsystems.
Simulator Training: Use flight simulators to conduct training for trainees in various scenarios, allowing them to practice complex maneuvers and combat operations in a controlled environment before flying the actual aircraft.
Real-World Scenario Training: Teach pilots how to handle a variety of flight operations, including air-to-air combat, air-to-ground strikes, interception, reconnaissance, and tactical formations.
. Flight Safety and Operational Readiness
Ensure Safety Protocols: Ensure that all training missions and flight operations follow strict safety protocols to minimize risks and ensure the safety of the pilots and aircraft.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks during flight training and take proactive measures to mitigate them, ensuring that trainees understand how to handle challenging flight conditions.
Emergency Training: Provide training in emergency procedures, such as engine failures, ejection drills, or handling extreme flight conditions.
Assessments and Performance Monitoring
Evaluate Pilot Performance: Continuously assess the performance of trainee pilots during flights and exercises, providing constructive feedback on their skills and identifying areas for improvement.
Formal Reviews and Reports: Prepare detailed reports on trainee progress and conduct formal evaluations, which may include written or oral assessments and flight competency tests.
Certification: Ensure that trainees meet the required standards for certification as Typhoon pilots, which may include meeting specific flight hour requirements and demonstrating proficiency in various mission types.
. Training Development and Curriculum Design
Curriculum Development: Contribute to the development of flight training programs, ensuring they meet the needs of both new and experienced pilots. This includes the integration of new technologies, flight tactics, and updated procedures.
Specialized Training: Develop and deliver training modules that address specific mission needs, such as high-speed intercepts, defensive counter-air operations, or integration with allied forces.
Integration of New Equipment: Ensure that training covers the integration and use of new systems or upgrades to the Typhoon aircraft, including weapons, radar, and electronic warfare systems.
