Job Title:
Senior Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist
Location: Carrollton GA
Salary: $75000 $120000 Annually
Employment Type: Full Time

Job Summary:

The Senior EHS Specialist is responsible for ensuring environmental health and safety (EHS) compliance and program management at a Level 1 facility. This role provides regulatory expertise implements EHS initiatives and monitors facility activities to ensure adherence to regulatory and company standards. The ideal candidate will drive proactive improvements foster a culture of safety and support the sites EHS management processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze data to identify opportunities for proactive safety and environmental improvements.

  • Lead the implementation and sustainability of EHS compliance programs and management processes (ISO OHSAS VPP).

  • Develop and deploy processes to identify evaluate and control workplace hazards in compliance with local state and federal regulations.

  • Conduct and lead EHS investigations root cause analysis and corrective action development for incidents near misses and regulatory concerns.

  • Manage regulatory recordkeeping reporting and case management for the facility.

  • Develop track and deliver EHS training for employees and stakeholders.

  • Monitor and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) related to EHS within the facility.

  • Oversee compliance for air water and waste management including DOT regulations.

  • Ensure alignment with companywide EHS policies and procedures.

  • Serve as the Emergency Response Coordinator assisting with emergency response coordination and contractor management. This position requires oncall availability 24/7.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering Science or a related EHS discipline.

  • Minimum of 9 years of experience in industrial EHS activities.

  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA NFPA ANSI NEC and other safety regulations.

  • Professional certification (e.g. CSP CIH) is preferred.

  • Ability to work flexible hours including nontraditional shifts.

  • Excellent verbal written and interpersonal communication skills.
