Equity Trader

Equity Traders are responsible for executing trades for fundamental quantitative and index strategies globally. You will work closely with the broader Investments team to deliver desired exposures for the Fund in the most efficient manner and deliver on the groups broader objectives.

Team Description

The Trading group oversees global trading and execution of all public assets (excluding credit) across all major markets on behalf of all investment departments and the Balancing Portfolio. Trading is organized into three teams: Equities Fixed Income Currency and Commodities (FICC) and Analytics.

Accountabilities:

• Play an active role in the daytoday execution and management of the Funds equities exposures; the Toronto desk executes trades in North America Latin America & Asia.
• Contribute to the teams management of the global Balancing Portfolios.
• Play an active role in the research and development of analytical tools and trading ideas
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with external partners across channels and regions.
• Work with internal stakeholders to improve systems trading analytics and support implementation. Support investment teams by sharing market insights trade ideas and fulfilling data requests.
• Oversee daytoday administrative issues in support of trading and exposure management activities. Continually seek to add value to our portfolio management and trading process by developing a thorough understanding of portfolio management and trading processes.
• Work on projects focusing on system improvements strategy back testing and/or internal presentations

Qualifications :

• Undergraduate degree relevant field
• An advanced degree or certification (CFA) is an asset
• 7 to 15 years of relevant work experience specifically in equity trading (buy side or sell side experience welcome)
• Strong and demonstrated interest in finance/investment management/capital markets
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
