Job Description

We are seeking a detailoriented and analytical Assistant Financial Controller to join our team in Gaborone Botswana. In this role you will play a crucial part in ensuring the financial integrity and success of our organization by overseeing financial reporting budgeting and compliance processes.

  • Assist in preparing and analyzing monthly financial statements including profit and loss statements balance sheets and cash flow reports
  • Collaborate with the Financial Controller to develop and implement budgets and forecasts
  • Ensure compliance with company policies local tax regulations and statutory requirements
  • Oversee internal and external audits addressing any findings and implementing corrective actions
  • Monitor daily revenue performance and ensure proper revenue recognition
  • Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable processes including credit risk assessments and debt collection
  • Review and approve bank transactions and reconciliations
  • Participate in the supplier selection process and approve procurement schedules
  • Oversee financial systems and ensure data security and reporting automation
  • Monitor inventory control procedures and asset management
  • Review and approve capital expenditure budgets and oversee contract negotiations
  • Assist in payroll processing and conduct random payroll audits
  • Provide financial leadership and guidance to finance teams across the organization
  • Conduct regular finance training sessions to ensure compliance with corporate policies
  • Attend executive committee meetings providing financial insights and recommendations

Qualifications :

  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration Finance or Accounting
  • Professional qualification such as ACCA CIMA or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in finance preferably in a Big4 audit firm or as a financial analyst
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products particularly Excel
  • Experience with general ledger and hotelrelated computer operating systems
  • Indepth knowledge of financial reporting and compliance standards
  • Understanding of hotel industry financial operations (desirable)
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fastpaced environment
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Expertise in budgeting forecasting and financial planning
  • Familiarity with internal control procedures and risk management
  • Ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy in work
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with crossfunctional teams
