We are seeking a detailoriented and analytical Assistant Financial Controller to join our team in Gaborone Botswana. In this role you will play a crucial part in ensuring the financial integrity and success of our organization by overseeing financial reporting budgeting and compliance processes.
- Assist in preparing and analyzing monthly financial statements including profit and loss statements balance sheets and cash flow reports
- Collaborate with the Financial Controller to develop and implement budgets and forecasts
- Ensure compliance with company policies local tax regulations and statutory requirements
- Oversee internal and external audits addressing any findings and implementing corrective actions
- Monitor daily revenue performance and ensure proper revenue recognition
- Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable processes including credit risk assessments and debt collection
- Review and approve bank transactions and reconciliations
- Participate in the supplier selection process and approve procurement schedules
- Oversee financial systems and ensure data security and reporting automation
- Monitor inventory control procedures and asset management
- Review and approve capital expenditure budgets and oversee contract negotiations
- Assist in payroll processing and conduct random payroll audits
- Provide financial leadership and guidance to finance teams across the organization
- Conduct regular finance training sessions to ensure compliance with corporate policies
- Attend executive committee meetings providing financial insights and recommendations
Qualifications :
- Bachelors Degree in Business Administration Finance or Accounting
- Professional qualification such as ACCA CIMA or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of experience in finance preferably in a Big4 audit firm or as a financial analyst
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products particularly Excel
- Experience with general ledger and hotelrelated computer operating systems
- Indepth knowledge of financial reporting and compliance standards
- Understanding of hotel industry financial operations (desirable)
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fastpaced environment
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Expertise in budgeting forecasting and financial planning
- Familiarity with internal control procedures and risk management
- Ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy in work
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with crossfunctional teams
