We are looking for a dedicated and detailoriented Medical Assistant (MA) to join our cardiovascular medical office team. The Medical Assistant will support healthcare providers by performing administrative and clinical duties to ensure efficient patient care. This role requires excellent organizational skills attention to detail and a strong understanding of cardiovascular health practices.
Greet patients obtain and update medical history and document vital signs.
Prepare patients for exams and assist the physician during cardiac procedures.
Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) Holter monitor placements and blood pressure readings.
Assist in scheduling diagnostic tests stress tests echocardiograms and followup appointments.
Administer medications as directed by the physician and within the scope of practice.
Ensure examination rooms are stocked sanitized and properly maintained.
Handle patient inquiries provide information on cardiovascular procedures and offer basic health education.
Maintain and update electronic health records (EHR) with accurate patient information.
Coordinate referrals to specialists and assist with insurance authorizations when necessary.
Follow infection control and OSHA guidelines to maintain a safe clinical environment.
Assist in front office duties including checking in patients verifying insurance and handling medical documentation.
Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program and certification preferred (CMA RMA or CCMA)
Minimum of 12 years of experience in a medical office preferably in cardiology.
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
Experience with EKGs Holter monitors and other cardiovascular diagnostic tools.
Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) preferably Insert EHR system used.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare staff.
Ability to multitask in a fastpaced medical setting while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
Knowledge of cardiac medications medical terminology and procedures.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in clinical and administrative tasks.
