Job Description

This position is responsible for or involved in recruiting payroll and benefits related issues.  Will also assist Human Resource Operations Manager with various generalist and/or administrative functions.

  1. Communicate the various benefit plans (i.e. healthcare life insurance retirement savings programs) and maintain appropriate files.
  2. Lead the recruiting process for Plant hourly and various salaried positions using approved resources i.e. Smart Recruiters.
  3. Maintain employee human resource files.  Assist employees with SelfService and other selfhelp resources.
  4. Assist with Employee Relations and/or union grievance process.
  5. Assist Health & Safety professional with Workers Compensation incident reporting training and record keeping.
  6. Serve as point person for employees regarding FMLA and other leave issues.
  7. Record all information necessary to prepare affirmative action plans.
  8. Actively assist with audits.
  9. Onboard all new hourly and salaried employees.  Administer log maintain and track all  required training courses.
  10. Participate in and assist HR Operations team with implementing policy procedures and practices involving the Human Resource function.
  11. Daily monitoring of time clock system to ensure data accuracy.
  12. Process weekly/biweekly payroll timely and accurately.  Review payroll registers.
  13. Work closely with Payroll to address hourly employee maintenancedirect deposit tax changes raises etc.
  14. Process new hires and terminations including EVerify NARFs  PAF etc.
  15. Serve as point person for all payroll related issues/concerns.
  16. Three shift operation so flexing schedule at times may be necessary.
  17. Performs other duties as assigned by HR Manager or Plant Manager.

Qualifications :

Analytical Synthesizes complex or diverse information; Collects and researches data; Uses intuition and experience to complement data.

Problem Solving Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Works well in group problem solving situations.

Written Communication Writes clearly and informatively; Presents numerical data effectively; Able to read and interpret written information

Oral Communication Must be bilingual and fluent in Spanish.  Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; Listens and gets clarification; Responds well to questions

Professionalism Approaches others in a tactful manner; Treats others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position.  Treat all employee matters as confidential.

Education: High school diploma.  Associate degree in Business field preferred.

Related Experience: 1 3 years of Human Resources Payroll or related experience. Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

Physical:  Sitting/Walking/Climbing as required in a manufacturing environment.

Sensory: Good Listening Skills; Public speaking abilities to communicate with both hourly and salaried personnel.

Mental/Reasoning: Organizational; Decision making ability; Multitasking; Must have strong analytical and problem solving abilities to accommodate a quick paced environment (a quick thinker).

Software Skills: Microsoft Word Excel and Outlook; payroll software
