Job Description
We offer a 6 months biology internship based at our Research and Development center in Stein for a highly motivated student currently enrolled in a third year Bachelors program or Masters program in molecular biology with knowledge in bioinformatics who can bring scientific excellence and is excited by solving practical problems in biology. It offers a great opportunity for practical training of cuttingedge molecular techniques bioinformatics and data analysis.
During this internship you will have the opportunity to:
- Develop optimize and/or automate molecular assays to detect expression of plant biomarkers by RTqPCR
- Design and automate data analysis workflows for gene expression data and a data visualization board
- Apply and improve problemsolving skills in biology experimentation
- Assist with the implementation of innovative laboratory techniques
- Nurture your talent so you can grow and succeed
Qualifications :
- We are seeking a highly motivated student with a strong academic background and excellent communication skills who is currently enrolled in a third year Bachelors program or Masters program in molecular biology with knowledge in bioinformatics
- Preference will be given to candidates with some lab experience in molecular biology
- Additionally experience with data analysis and bioinformatics (primer design sequence analysis knowledge of either Python or R) is considered an asset
- A valid residence and work permit for Switzerland or eligibility to obtain such under an international treaty (e.g. EU bilateral treaty) is required
- Fluent in English written and spoken
