MUSIC TEACHER: A FANTASTIC OPPORTUNITY IN HORLEY SURREY

A thriving secondary school in Horley Surrey seeks a passionate and dedicated Music Teacher to join their vibrant Music department. This is an excellent opportunity for a creative and skilled Music Teacher to inspire students and contribute to a school that places a high value on the performing arts. The successful Music Teacher will be instrumental in nurturing students musical development.

ABOUT THE ROLE & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

This role involves planning preparing and delivering engaging and challenging Music lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. Key Stage 5 experience (ALevel Music BTEC Music or similar) is advantageous but not essential. You will:

  1. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of all learners.
  2. Assess and record student progress providing constructive feedback.
  3. Create a positive and inclusive classroom that fosters musical creativity and performance.
  4. Collaborate with colleagues in the Music department and across the school.
  5. Contribute to and lead extracurricular music activities (choirs orchestras bands etc.).
  6. Organize student performances.
  7. Maintain effective communication with parents/guardians.
  8. Ensure adherence to all safeguarding policies.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Proven experience teaching Music at Key Stage 3 and 4.
  • Proficiency in at least one musical instrument and/or voice.
  • A genuine passion for music and the ability to inspire students.
  • Excellent classroom management skills.
  • A commitment to student progress.
  • A collaborative spirit and willingness to contribute to the school community.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional growth.
  • The ideal candidate will be a dedicated Music Teacher.
