Job Description

SEN Teacher Mainstream Primary School Bexley April Start

Position: SEN Teacher
Location: Bexley
Start Date: April 2025
Contract: FullTime Permanent
Salary: MPS/UPS SEN Allowance (dependent on experience)

A wonderful opportunity has arisen for a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher to join our inclusive mainstream primary school in Bexley. If you have experience in supporting students with special educational needs and are committed to helping them succeed in a nurturing inclusive environment this is the role for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver highquality differentiated lessons to meet the diverse needs of students with special educational needs (SEN).
  • Provide onetoone and small group support to ensure students with additional needs make progress in line with their peers.
  • Work closely with the SENCO to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and tailor interventions to students specific needs.
  • Create a positive inclusive classroom environment where every student feels valued and supported.
  • Monitor and assess student progress adapting teaching methods to meet the ongoing needs of students.
  • Collaborate with parents support staff and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to student development.
  • Promote an inclusive ethos where diversity is celebrated and students are encouraged to reach their full potential.

Who Were Looking For:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience working with students with SEN preferably within a mainstream primary school.
  • Strong understanding of SEN teaching strategies and the ability to differentiate effectively.
  • A patient compassionate and proactive approach to supporting students with diverse learning needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with students parents and colleagues.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
