Job Description

We are looking for outstanding people to join our team and currently seek to incorporate environmental engineer for our Spanish team. In this role you will join a wellstructured team working in close interaction with our global network.

We work as an integrated company in close and direct interaction with our global office network. We are currently implementing projects in Spain and other geographies i.e. Europe Latin America etc.

In enhancing our services and continued growth we are seeking talented and motivated people to incorporate to our technical consultancy office. An environmental engineer consultant plays a critical role in helping organizations manage environmental challenges. Their primary functions involve assessing environmental impacts ensuring compliance with regulations and designing sustainable solutions. The main functions and responsibilities involve:

  • Develop sustainability related projects such as Environmental Assessments and Impact Studies; Sustainability Regulatory Compliance; Resource Management (mainly related to water resources and circularity); Industrial site selection studies; Develop sustainability strategies including carbon footprint reduction and renewable energy integration; Conduct lifecycle assessments (LCA) of products or processes to identify environmental impacts Risk Assessment and Management; Environmental Monitoring and Reporting focused on digitalization; etc.
  • Liaise with clients: the new team member will establish direct relationships with clients where the projects are taking place and participate in new opportunities. He/She will act as a liaison between clients regulatory agencies and other stakeholders.
  • Project Management: Lead environmental projects from planning and budgeting to implementation and reporting;
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams; Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to timelines and budgets.
  • Collaborate with other teams in AFRY both within the different service areas in the Zaragoza office and in the international AFRY community.

The position will be based in Zaragoza.


Qualifications :

Below we explain the main skills that we look for:

  • Degree in Chemical Engineering Industrial Engineering with specialty/masters degree in Environment or related.
  • You will be part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent teamwork and leadership. Most of the work we do requires teamwork and you will be responsible for the results of the entire team. It can encompass work planning team support anticipating challenges leading by example and accountability to the client (with more senior support when needed).
  • Fluent in Spanish and English. On the one hand many of our clients are located in Spanishspeaking or nonSpanishspeaking countries on the other hand our work requires daily collaboration in English with other AFRY offices.
  • Knowledge of French is an interesting advantage.
  • Demonstrated professional at least 1 year experience in any of the functions mentioned above.
  • Valued skills:
    • Project management.
    • Life cycle analysis.
    • Carbon footprint and water footprint standards.
    • ESG assessment.
    • Carbon credit assessment.
    • Water or energy monitoring
    • Water treatments
  • You must be willing to travel domestically and internationally.
  • You must have a residence and work permit in Spain.
  • Valid driving license required
