This discipline is responsible for transforming raw data into actionable insights building robust data infrastructures and enabling datadriven decisionmaking and innovation through advanced analytics and predictive modeling.
The Lead Data Analyst is responsible for bridging business requirements and technical data solutions. This role extends beyond traditional business analysis by delving deeper into data flows data quality and BI/analytics tools. Lead Data Analysts coordinate closely with Data Engineers Data Scientists and business stakeholders to ensure datadriven insights are accurately captured and effectively communicated.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Requirements & Data Discovery
- Elicit and interpret business needs mapping them to data requirements.
- Work with stakeholders to define use cases success criteria and datadriven opportunities.
- Data Extraction & Preparation
- Identify required data sources and collaborate with Data Engineers on ingestion strategies.
- Understand and validate data lineage data dictionaries and sourcetotarget mappings.
- Data Validation & Quality Control
- Perform data profiling anomaly detection and data cleaning in collaboration with Data Engineers.
- Drive quality checks and ensure data accuracy for downstream analytics.
- Reporting & Visualisation
- Develop dashboards reports and visualisations to present insights to business stakeholders.
- Tailor communication of findings to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
- Liaise with project managers and clients to clarify requirements and manage expectations.
- Serve as the point of contact between technical teams (Data Engineering Data Science) and business units.
Qualifications :
Key Skills & Competencies
- Familiarity with relational data modelling data flow diagrams ETL/ELT processes.
- Proficiency in SQL data visualisation tools (e.g. Power BI Tableau) and basic Python or R for data exploration.
- Analytical & Business Acumen
- Strong statistical understanding and ability to interpret patterns trends and relationships in data.
- Experience in writing effective reports and translating data findings into actionable business insights.
- Communication & Facilitation: Ability to engage diverse stakeholders run workshops and clarify requirements.
- ProblemSolving: Skilled at translating ambiguous business problems into clear data tasks.
- Stakeholder Management: Ensures alignment between technical deliverables and business outcomes.
