Job Description

JOB TITLE: Account Officer (Import and Export)

LOCATION: Lagos Nigeria

TYPE OF EMPLOYMENT: Onsite

SALARY BUDGET: Net (Not open for negotiation)

EXPERIENCE LENGTH: At least 3 years.

SUMMARY

We are seeking a detailoriented and proactive professional to manage financial and logisticsrelated tasks within our import/export operations. The role involves tracking shipments handling bank reconciliations processing refunds from shipping companies and liaising with clearing agents and banks. Additionally the candidate will be responsible for preparing sales invoices VAT returns petty cash vouchers and financial reports. Strong communication skills and attention to detail are key to success in this role.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Tracking of shipments and submission of ECD Documents to the bank.
  • Following up on the refund process from shipping companies.
  • Tracking all shipments following up with clearing agents and shipping companies.
  • Banks and cash reconciliation for all banks for all companies.
  • Preparation of sales invoices for preparation of month s VAT returns.
  • Petty cash voucher preparation and handling of cashrelated work.
  • Posting of payment entries (petty cash bank payment receipt entries.
  • Visiting bank for cheque payments and other submission of documents.
  • Preparation of daily sales waybills and invoices to be signed by the supervisor.
  • Weekly aging reports preparation for food and whiskey.


Requirements


  • Having related technical/hard skills that include the specific knowledge and abilities required for the above works.
  • Required proficiency experience or familiarity with each task mentioned above.
  • Bachelor s degree in accounting/finance from a reputable institution.
  • 2 years of work experience in accounting and Import/Export department.
  • Sound IT includes knowledge and experience in Excel Word PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experienced in NEW FORM M Opening and NXP Opening process.
  • Having Knowledge of import clearing works and duty payments.
