We are currently seeking a sixmonth contract Senior Analyst to join the Expense Operation (EO) team within the Corporate Services group of the Technology and Operations department. This team is responsible for expense processing across all CPPIB global offices and supports the Finance department with general ledger accounting functions.
The Senior Analyst will support the oversight of CPP Investments centralized expense processing which includes accurately and timely processing of expenses in a robust control environment and assisting in the monthly financial close process including accruals reconciliations and reclass journal entries. The candidate will collaborate with other EO team members various departments throughout the organization and external stakeholders.
Accountabilities:
- Support the daily operations of the centralized global expense processing for CPP Investments in accordance with policies and procedures which includes vendor invoices and general ledger entries. This includes maintaining the master vendor record and processing of vendor invoices.
- Actively participate in the organization wide roll out for the SourcetoPay project.
- Coordinate with thirdparty accounting service providers to ensure accounting records are accurately reflected for outsourced CPP Investments global offices.
- Manage general ledger accounting functions including variance analysis preparation and/or review of journal entries (accruals reclass and adjustments) and reconciliations of general ledger balances.
- Support the annual audit inquiries and data collection processes.
- Update risk control metrics and standard operating procedures as process and controls evolve
- Promote the use and understanding of AP policies systems and procedures to the team and other stakeholders across the organization including the development of training materials.
- Partner collaboratively with finance and other internal stakeholders to resolve crossfunctional issues and gaps. Propose and implement solutions that reflect an understanding of business needs organizational impact and governance and controls.
- Proactively identifies opportunities for streamlining processes with recommended solutions.
- Performs other duties and projects as assigned or as the role evolves due to new processes procedures and implementation of technological tools.
Qualifications :
- Undergraduate degree in accounting finance business or equivalent with a professional accounting designation preferred.
- Minimum 23 years of relevant experience.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and other Microsoft Office applications with an aptitude and interest in learning new software applications.
- Experience with Oracle Financials and 3way matching invoice processing is an asset.
- Solid interpersonal skills suited for a professional and thoughtful corporate environment.
- Commitment to continuous improvement with view of building scalable and standardized processes within a robust control environment.
- Solid oral and written communication skills for stakeholder management.
- Analytical skills and the ability to the think through problems assess a variety of factors and recommend solutions
- Ability to build and foster relationships with key business partners across the organization.
- Exceptional time management and agility to work under sensitive time deadlines and urgency.
- Demonstrated ability to succeed in a high performing culture open to and comfortable with evolving changes and new challenges.
