About Your Company
This leading investment firm specializes in private equity private credit asset management and wealth management solutions. With a robust portfolio that spans various sectors and geographies the company is committed to delivering superior returns through strategic investments and innovative financial solutions. The firm is currently seeking to hire a new headcount for its tax team. This position will report directly to the CFO and operate as a standalone role providing a unique opportunity to shape the tax function within the organization.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assume full responsibility for all tax compliance matters across the Groups companies joint ventures and associates including the preparation of local and international tax filings.
- Report directly to senior management while providing support for specific duties based on experience.
- Manage and report on the Groups effective tax rate focusing on strategic tax planning in private equity private credit asset management and wealth management.
- Act as the sole coordinator for Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) related to tax risks.
- Provide expert tax structuring advice to investment teams ensuring alignment with the Groups goals while maintaining strong relationships with external tax advisors.
- Oversee Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS) 2.0 initiatives at the subgroup level coordinating with the parent company on related matters and assessing strategies to minimize exposure.
- Handle transfer pricing issues for the Group and its associates/affiliates preparing necessary documentation such as master files and local files and facilitating countrybycountry reporting when applicable.
- Collaborate closely with fund management teams to deliver tax advice on structuring products and investments in the US Australia China and Europe etc.
- Liaise with various business units and finance teams to provide comprehensive support and guidance contributing to administrative tasks as needed.
- Design and implement efficient tax procedures to enhance compliance and operational effectiveness.
- Perform adhoc research and tasks as assigned by management including annual tax planning and managing multiple projects across various entities.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Finance or a related field.
- Qualified CPA or equivalent designation.
- A minimum of 1015 years of relevant experience in asset management private equity or licensed corp with a strong background in tax compliance.
- Handson experience with local tax regulations; overseas experience is essential particularly in the US China Australia the UK and/or the EU.
- Familiarity with BEPS 2.0 and transfer pricing is preferred though not mandatory.
- Previous experience in Big Four accounting firms and buyside fund houses is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to meet tight deadlines and conduct adhoc research.
- Excellent command of both written and spoken English; articulate and intelligent communication skills are crucial to face investors and other business partners.
- Ability to engage with tax advisory services while conducting initial groundwork independently (e.g. tax returns and IR reports).
- Openminded and adaptable capable of handling a variety of tasks across tax finance and administrative support.
