Job Description
Manufacturing Engineering Manager
Key Accountabilities
- This is a handson manufacturing engineering role with responsibilities for managing a team of engineers as well as performing manufacturing engineering functions
- Responsible for plant layout designing efficient process and material flows and implementation of machinery
- Lead coach and mentor Manufacturing Engineering team
- Implement process improvement and new technology to improve mfg cost improve flow and reduce the cost of poor quality
- Develop and maintain metrics for Manufacturing Engineering
- Oversee key projects that support the manufacturing processes and processes for new products
- Identify development and implement new capital equipment requests for the business that support annual business priorities
- Work with Quality Manufacturing and Engineering on troubleshooting problems and developing error proof solutions
- Provide guidance and support during design reviews to address product manufacturing issues: process routings machining capabilities etc
- Address quality issues routing issues and design changes that could affect manufacturing processes or machines
- Ability to identify select and implement new capital equipment into the facility to support business needs
- Team player that has the capabilities to work with other functions
- Drive for Continuous Improvement
- Ability to work in fastpaced work environment
- Proven track record of utilizing sound problem solving skill set and root cause analysis as method of metric driven performance improvements
- Self motivated individual with the ability to lead/drive through the change management cycle
Job Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering Industrial Mechanical or Electrical Engineering required. Advanced degree a plus
- Must be bilingual English/Spanish
- 7 years of manufacturing engineering experience in mills lathes turning and/or assembly
- 5 years experience in leadership
- 3 years of handson support of greenfield/line move experience including build up of direct staff for support of long term production.
- 3 years in project management capabilities from idea generation to implementation preferred
- 5 years of Lean manufacturing experience with practical application experience
- 3 years with ERP systems – manufacturing functions
