Key Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee fund accounting ensuring accurate allocation and tracking of restricted and unrestricted funds.
Prepare financial statements and reports including fund balance reconciliations and grant tracking.
Assist with monthend and yearend closing processes including journal entries and reconciliations.
Ensure compliance with donor and grant restrictions government regulations and internal policies.
Work closely with program managers to provide financial insights and reports on fund usage.
Assist in preparing audit schedules and liaise with external auditors as needed.
Support budgeting and forecasting activities related to restricted and unrestricted funds.
Maintain financial records and documentation for funding sources ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum of 35 years of fund accounting experience preferably in a notforprofit organization.
Strong knowledge of fund accounting principles including donor restrictions and grant accounting.
Experience with financial reporting reconciliations and general ledger maintenance.
Proficiency in accounting software (experience with NetSuite or similar systems is a plus).
Strong attention to detail analytical skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Strong communication skills with the ability to explain financial concepts to nonfinancial stakeholders.
CPA designation is not required but candidates with extensive relevant experience will be preferred.
