Job Description

The Leave and Benefits Specialist is responsible for administering all employee leaves of absence including but not limited to Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) ShortTerm Disability LongTerm Disability Workers Compensation and other companyprovided leave programs. This role also handles benefit invoicing employee inquiries related to leave and benefits and maintains accurate employee records. On the frontlines of managing employee needs this role is critical to the success of the People Operations team as it grows and scales to support our fast growing employee base.

Primary Job Duties:

  • Manage all aspects of employee leave requests including intake processing tracking and process improvement
  • Serve as the primary pointofcontact for employees regarding leave and benefit inquiries including providing process guidance and support
  • Coordinate with medical providers insurance carriers and thirdparty administrators to obtain and maintain required documentation and employee enrollments
  • Monitor leave durations and communicate with employees regarding leave status and returntowork timelines
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal state and local leave laws (e.g. FMLA ADA Workers Compensation) and stay abreast of changes and opportunities for improvement
  • Process and reconcile benefit invoices from insurance carriers and other vendors
  • Assist with open enrollment activities including communication and education
  • Maintain accurate employee benefit records in HRIS systems
  • Assist with audits and internal control reviews
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications :

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in leave administration and/or benefits administration
  • Strong knowledge and experience in administering of FMLA ADA and other leave laws
  • Strong organizational and timemanagement skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Experience with HRIS systems and benefit administration platforms Paylocity and bSwift preferred
  • Strong Excel experience working with functions like VLOOKUP formulas pivot tables etc preferred
  • Excellent analytical skills and research skills 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion

The salary range for this role is $60000 $70000 in base pay exclusive of any bonuses or benefits (medical dental vision life and pet insurance 401K paid time off and other wellness programs). This role is also eligible for an annual bonus targeted at 10%. The base pay offered will be determined based on relevant factors such as experience education and geographic location.

Technical Requirements (for remote workers only not applicable for onsite/in office work):

In order to successfully work remotely supporting our patients and providers we require a minimum of 5 MBPS for Download Speed and 3 MBPS for the Upload Speed. This should be acquired prior to the start of your employment.
