Teradata Data Warehouse Architect 5

Top Skills & Years of Experience:
Experience supporting at least one State of Michigan Department of Health and Human Services Data Warehouses or (at minimum) supporting another SOMI Agencies Data Warehouse.
Minimum 12 years Teradata experience
Minimum 10 years SQL experience.
Minimum 10 years shell scripting experience.
Minimum 5 years Linux experience.
Proven track record of working independently within a collaborative team.

Interview Process: Virtual interviews are anticipated for this position. A screenshot photo of candidate will be required for any interviews as well as a vendor present at beginning of any MS Teams interview to validate candidate. 2nd round interviews may be onsite at the Lansing office.

Onsite: Hybrid position Onsite 2 days per week REQUIRED. CANDIDATES MUST BE LOCAL TO MIDMICHIGAN. Hiring manager is not currently interested in candidates who will need to relocate to accept offer. NO REMOTE ONLY OPTION.

Duration: 1 Year anticipated with possible extension.





Data Warehouse Architect 5



Roles and Responsibilities



Responsible for complex Linux security model on DW ETL servers. (Servers are administered by another group but our team is responsible for the security structure and authorizes user access to the groups and sudos)

Responsible for Teradata security and access.

Responsible for complex Common Batch Framework and Common Scheduler to ensure current and reliable data is available for critical business processes and decision making.

Responsible for Data Warehouse change management infrastructure and all promotions of code and ddl; performing build engineer tasks for both manual and automated promotion processes.

Responsible for migrating the three separate MDHHS DWs supporting four MDHHS Program areas to Common Processes.

Responsible for DW standards and processes including their adherence to SOM policies and procedures.

Responsible for conducting elevated access and user audits.

Responsible for mitigating any audit findings; providing input to SSPs.

Responsible for Data Warehouse Continuity Planning and testing.

Responsible for providing support for escalated Data Warehouse issue troubleshooting and resolution.







Required Experience



Experience supporting one or more State of Michigan Department of Health and Human Services Data Warehouses

Minimum 12 years Teradata experience.

Minimum 10 years SQL experience.

Minimum 10 years shell scripting experience.

Minimum 5 years Linux experience.

Supporting the loading of data from multiple source systems.

Providing targeted training and technical expertise to development teams to enable them to better troubleshoot and support their batches.

Proven track record of working independently within a collaborative team.

Must be able to make decisions on the correct path forward in various situations while staying consistent with State of Michigan and MDHHS/DTMB policies.
