Job Description

JOB TITTLE : Finance Manager

Experience: Minimum of 5 years in finance management
Qualification: Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
Education: Bachelor s degree in Finance Accounting Business Administration or a related field

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and resultsdriven Finance Manager to oversee all financial operations ensuring the company s financial health regulatory compliance and strategic growth. The ideal candidate will possess strong financial acumen leadership abilities and expertise in financial planning reporting and risk management. They will play a key role in optimizing financial performance and providing datadriven recommendations to senior management.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Strategy & Business Planning
  • Develop and implement financial strategies that align with the company s shortterm and longterm business goals.

  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management to support business growth and decisionmaking.

  • Evaluate financial performance by comparing actual results with forecasts and identifying areas for improvement.

  • Assess investment opportunities financial risks and costsaving initiatives to enhance profitability.

2. Budgeting Forecasting & Cost Control
  • Oversee the preparation of annual budgets rolling forecasts and financial projections.

  • Monitor and control expenditures to ensure adherence to budgetary allocations.

  • Analyze financial variances and recommend corrective actions to improve financial efficiency.

  • Drive costreduction initiatives and optimize resource allocation to improve operational effectiveness.

3. Financial Reporting & Compliance
  • Prepare review and present timely and accurate financial reports including income statements balance sheets and cash flow statements.

  • Ensure compliance with all financial reporting requirements including IFRS GAAP and local statutory requirements.

  • Develop and maintain financial policies procedures and internal controls to safeguard company assets.

  • Coordinate and liaise with external auditors tax authorities and regulatory bodies during audits and financial reviews.

4. Taxation & Regulatory Compliance
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of tax laws and ensure the company meets all tax obligations including VAT PAYE corporate tax and other statutory filings.

  • Work closely with tax consultants and regulatory bodies to optimize tax planning and compliance.

  • Monitor changes in financial regulations and ensure the company s policies and procedures remain uptodate.

5. Cash Flow & Risk Management
  • Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure the company maintains a strong financial position.

  • Optimize working capital management including receivables payables and inventory control.

  • Identify financial risks and develop mitigation strategies to protect the company s financial interests.

  • Develop and oversee internal financial controls to prevent fraud and mismanagement.

6. Financial Systems & Process Optimization
  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of financial systems and software (e.g. QuickBooks ERP systems).

  • Ensure financial data integrity security and accuracy through proper financial controls and automation.

  • Continuously improve financial processes to enhance efficiency and reduce manual tasks.

7. Leadership & Team Development
  • Lead mentor and supervise the finance team ensuring high levels of performance and professional growth.

  • Foster a culture of accountability collaboration and continuous learning within the finance department.

  • Conduct training and workshops to enhance financial literacy across departments.

8. Stakeholder Management & Business Partnering
  • Collaborate with department heads to align financial goals with business objectives.

  • Liaise with banks financial institutions auditors and external stakeholders to maintain strong financial relationships.

  • Provide financial guidance to executives and key decisionmakers to enhance strategic business planning.



Requirements

Key Qualifications & Skills:

  • Professional Certification: Must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). A Master s degree in Finance Accounting or Business Administration is an added advantage.

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in finance management preferably in a leadership role within a dynamic organization.

  • Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of financial management systems including QuickBooks SAP Oracle or other ERP systems. Advanced Excel skills are essential.

  • Regulatory & Compliance Knowledge: Deep understanding of Ugandan financial regulations tax laws and compliance requirements. Experience in regulatory reporting and working with auditors is preferred.

  • Analytical & ProblemSolving Skills: Strong ability to interpret complex financial data conduct indepth financial analysis and provide actionable insights.

  • Strategic Thinking & DecisionMaking: Ability to align financial strategies with overall business goals and support leadership in making informed decisions.

  • Report Writing & Communication: Excellent financial reporting and presentation skills with the ability to communicate financial data to nonfinancial stakeholders.

  • Leadership & Interpersonal Skills: Proven ability to lead manage and motivate a finance team fostering a highperformance culture.

  • Ethical Standards & Integrity: High level of professionalism accountability and commitment to ethical financial practices.
