Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Cardiologist to join a growing Cardiology Department The Consultant Cardiologist will report to the Clinical Director of Cardiology and will be responsible for providing high-quality inpatient, outpatient, and outreach cardiology services. The role includes leading cardiac investigations, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to the expansion of the Clinical Diagnostic Unit (CDU).

Your Role & Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality inpatient and outpatient cardiology services.
  • Perform and report on cardiac investigations, including stress echocardiograms, transoesophageal echocardiograms, and transthoracic echocardiograms.
  • Lead and develop cardiology services to improve patient care
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Mentor and educate junior medical staff and students.
  • Contribute to outreach cardiology clinics in surrounding health services.

Who We're Looking For:
Specialist Registration with AHPRA as a Cardiologist.
Proven experience in stress echocardiography and transoesophageal echocardiography.
Strong communication & teamwork skills to collaborate effectively.
A commitment to teaching, mentoring, and supporting junior staff.
Passion for regional healthcare and improving patient outcomes.

Key Requirements:
AHPRA Specialist Registration as a Cardiologist.
Fellowship in Echocardiography or Non-Invasive Imaging.
Experience in heart failure management (preferred).
Strong teamwork, leadership, and communication skills.
Commitment to mentoring and educating junior medical staff.
