Job Description

Job Description:

The job description of the said role would be setting typically involves a range of financial management and compliance responsibilities tailored to the specific needs of the manufacturing environment. Heres an outline of what their role might entail:

  1. Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements including balance sheets income statements and cash flow statements to provide accurate and timely financial information to management and stakeholders. Also provide monthly MIS to the management in respect of production costing inventories and other areas as suggested.
  2. Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop annual budgets and forecasts in collaboration with management providing insights into financial performance and identifying areas for improvement or cost reduction.
  3. Cost Accounting: Implement cost accounting systems to track monthly production costs of each product manufactured monthly analyze variances and optimize manufacturing processes for efficiency and profitability.
  4. Inventory Management: Oversee monthly inventory valuation control and monthly reconciliation processes to ensure accurate recording of inventory levels and costs and minimize carrying costs and obsolescence.
  5. Compliance and Regulatory Reporting: Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards taxation laws and regulatory requirements applicable to the manufacturing industry such as those related to inventory valuation depreciation and environmental regulations.
  6. Internal Controls: Establish and monitor internal control procedures to safeguard company assets prevent fraud and ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
  7. Cost Reduction and Profit Maximization: Identify opportunities for cost reduction and profit maximization through analysis of production processes pricing strategies and overhead expenses.
  8. Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to evaluate the financial performance of the factory identify trends and provide recommendations for improvement to management.
  9. Tax Planning and Compliance: Coordinate with tax experts to develop tax planning strategies prepare tax returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations including tax incentives and credits available to the manufacturing industry.
  10. Management Reporting: Prepare and present financial reports and analysis to management highlighting key performance indicators variances from budget and areas of concern or opportunity.
  11. Capital Budgeting and Investment Analysis: Evaluate capital investment proposals assessing their financial viability and potential impact on the factorys financial performance and provide recommendations to management.
  12. Audit Support: Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits (statutory and internal) providing documentation and explanations as needed to support audit procedures and ensure compliance with auditing standards.

Qualifications:

  1. Chartered Accountant (CA) Certification: A recognized professional qualification as a Chartered Accountant is essential demonstrating expertise in accounting principles financial management and taxation.
  2. Experience: Prior experience in financial management preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting is often required to understand the complexities and specific challenges of the industry.
  3. Knowledge of Manufacturing Processes: Understanding of manufacturing processes cost structures and inventory management principles is beneficial for effectively managing financial aspects in a factory environment.
  4. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills are essential for financial analysis cost control and decisionmaking including the ability to interpret financial data and identify trends and insights.
