About us

Flamingo is pioneering RNAtargeted therapies for oncology with a clinicalstage pipeline targeting undruggable transcription factors and long noncoding RNAs.

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Project Manager Translational Research to join our international team based in Leuven Belgium. The successful candidate will provide project management expertise to Research and Clinical Development teams playing an important role in bridging the two sides of research. The Project Manager will work collaboratively with our vendors (central lab and specialty lab services) and with internal crossfunctional teams to design and efficiently execute translational research projects contributing significantly to the advancement of innovative cancer therapies.

Role and key responsibilities:

  • Assist in defining the project scope and objectives involving relevant stakeholders;
  • Provide comprehensive oversight and management of vendors ensuring timely and highquality deliverables;
  • Lead role in clinical sample management;
  • Facilitate timely communication with vendors regarding protocol or study design changes ensuring alignment with supplier budgets timelines and specifications. Support documentation update as needed;
  • Actively participate to issue management and mitigation processes;
  • Generate and maintain comprehensive project documentation and contribute to data analysis and development of a final project report;
  • Establish and maintain relationships with all projectinvolved third parties/vendors;
  • Ability to access and bring to team key data from literature as needed (e.g. epidemiology)
  • Engage in crossfunctional collaboration with internal team members.

The responsibilities outlined above may vary depending on specific projects and assignments. Based upon the candidate experience and education other opportunities may be available. Flexibility and adaptability are key attributes for success in this role.

Profile:

  • Bachelors Degree/Masters Degree (preferred) in Biotechnology Biomedical Science or related Life sciences field or field applicable to the position
  • Experience in a project or trial management role in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry; Central Lab vendor management clinical outsourcing with focus on Central Lab category or previous working experience at a Central Lab is highly desirable
  • Understanding of applicable regulations (GCP GLP…)
  • Background in oncology translational research preferred but not required
  • Fluency in spoken and written English is mandatory
  • Ability to thrive in crossfunctional teams and a matrixed environment
  • Strong organizational skills proficient at multitasking with good attention to detail
  • Flexibility needed to work in a small biotech environment where crossfunctional responsibilities may be assigned from timetotime
