As we transition to our next step we re looking to add a Lead Corporate Counsel as a key contributor to this successful team.


Summary of Role:


As our Lead Corporate Counsel youll play a crucial role in our companys operation. From legal advice to negotiating contracts your expertise will help shape our strategic direction to ensure continued success.


This role calls for a wellrounded corporate attorney with strong business acumen someone who understands the need for legal oversight without compromising the momentum of growth. Additionally a background in commercial and industrial real estate would be beneficial as we explore opportunities to build and acquire new facilities as well as the overall management of our current portfolio.


Core Skills and Responsibilities:


Legal Expertise: Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis to provide strategic guidance to the organization.


Document Drafting: Prepare and review legal documents including contracts agreements and policies with meticulous attention to detail.


Contract Management: Negotiate and oversee contracts with external parties fostering mutually beneficial partnerships and driving business growth. Periodic review of insurance coverage to identify potential exposures and liabilities.


Corporate Structure Assessment: Provide guidance on structure of separate entities and properties to maximize protection and recommend changes when necessary.


Litigation Support: Provide valuable legal support in litigation matters liaising with our internal team and collaborating with outside counsel to protect company interests.


Compliance Advisory: Advise on compliance with relevant laws and regulations ensuring that business practices adhere to the highest legal (and industry) standards.


Policy Development: Develop and implement corporate policies and procedures that reflect our core values and culture while promoting transparency and efficiency across the organization.


Real Estate Management: Provide legal support for real estate transactions including acquisitions leases and property management to support our expansion efforts.

Requirements

Qualifications:


Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Active license to practice law in the state of Illinois

Minimum of 710 years of experience in corporate law

Experience with manufacturing distribution and/or logistics not required but helpful

Strong understanding of contract law intellectual property and regulatory compliance

Background in real estate especially commercial and/or industrial is preferred

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset

Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines

Strong business acumen understanding the balance between legal structure and business operations across internal channels
