Job Description
The client a leading venture builder in subSaharan Africa founded by thought leaders and pioneer investors in the climate sector. They are seeking an experienced IT Solutions Engineer who possesses a blend of technical expertise and customer advocacy skills. The ideal candidate will excel at understanding business needs and translating them into effective IT solutions.
What does the job involve
The job involves collaborating with external customers to analyze their business requirements and implement technical solutions. This includes tasks such as application integration configuration API usage and cloud storage utilization. Additionally the role entails assessing clients current technical setups offering insights for improvement and designing or optimizing application networks. Researching new technologies and supporting Persistents IT administration are also part of the job responsibilities.
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelors degree in computer science IT business or a related field (Masters degree preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of experience as an IT solutions engineer or full stack developer
- Experience working with various technologies ideally in sectors such as climate tech renewable energy finance supply chain customer support or PayGo financing
- Proficiency in application network design particularly for SMEs in Africa
Qualifications
- Expertise in common programming languages like Java/Python
- Familiarity with version control (e.g. GitHub) and cloud infrastructure services (e.g. AWS Azure Google Cloud)
- Knowledge of low code development and API tools (e.g. App Sheet Zoho Creator Postman)
- Experience in mobile app development
- Entrepreneurial mindset with strong analytical and problemsolving abilities
- Selfstarter mentality with a willingness to engage in various tasks to support company success
- Ability to build relationships and represent the company effectively
- Legal authorization to work in Kenya and willingness to travel as needed
