Well Operations Specialist

• Work Location : Offshore, QA • Company : QatarEnergyLNG • Job Purpose : - Implement wellwork operations inQatargas production and injection wells, meeting theCompany’s target and in the most cost-effective manner,while maintaining the highest level of safety, environmental andsecurity compliance. • Job Context & MajorChallenge(s) - I : - Majority of Qatargas wellwork activities arelive-well activity and require a high-level onsite supervision toperform wellwork activities in a safe, reliable and efficientmanner. There is frequent need for well-entry and well-exit, whileperforming these live-well activities. - Challenges lie whileexecuting a technologically complex rigless wellwork ensuringsafety of Qatargas and contractor personnel exposed to hazardoustoxic gas. • Work at offshore or at onshore well sites. - Requiredto implement well emergencies at site, if required, as a part ofEmergency Response Team. • Supervises contractor and servicespersonnel of around 20 people. • Key Job Accountabilities- I : - Implement all types of wellwork activities in Qatargaswells (either offshore or onshore) ensuring a safe, reliable, andefficient operation. • Implement any technologically complexrigless wellwork to ensure reliable and efficient operation. -Ensure proper programs, procedures and guidelines are followed toensure safe and efficient wellwork operation. Identify anysignificant findings during wellwork activities, report to Head ofWell Operations or Offshore Operations. - Arrange equipment andpersonnel mobilization and demobilization. Coordinate betweencontractors and Qatargas related divisions to support wellintervention division tasks whenever is required. • Examineequipment, tools, and consumables at the site to ensure they arefit-for-purpose and of adequate quantity. Advise Well Engineeringteam on time in the event of any discrepancy or shortfall to ensurezero downtime and to ensure that the wellwork schedule is notadversely affected. • Key Job Accountabilities - II : -Conduct Last Minute Risk Assessment to ensure all risks aremitigated and are within acceptable limits. Conduct regular ToolboxTalks to ensure all crewmembers understand the operation and isaware of any potential risk and the mitigation measures. • Analyserow data, maintain records, and compile daily reports in Well Viewin a timely manner to ensure all the relevant wellwork data andinformation is captured. • Implement well handover process in asafe and efficient way prior to or after any rigless well workoperation. Develop continuous awareness of Qatargas Incident andInjury Free (IIF) Safety Culture to contractor and servicepersonnel to ensure a safe and efficient operation. Develop astrong awareness of blowout prevention among the rigless well workcrew & maintain a blowout prevention condition all the timeto avoid any well control incident during any rigless well workoperation. Maintain all time readiness for responding to any wellcontrol incident. Implement Qatargas Well Control Plan EmergencyResponse Plan during a well control incident, if any, as deputyon-scene commander to ensure a prompt response during the incident. Conduct well control drills to ensure all rigless crewmembers areaware of the response actions during a well control incident. • Coordinate with Onshore and Offshore Operations, MaintenanceProject teams, Drilling & Completions, PetroleumEngineering, SEQ, Warehouse and other disciplines to maximize wellutilization, to minimize well downtime and to avoid undue expenses. • Qualifications : - Bachelor’s degree inEngineering (Petroleum, Natural Gas, Mechanical). • Knowledge and / or Experience - I : - 8 years’ experiencein wellwork operations in the oil and gas industry, including atleast 5 years’ experience in rigless wellwork operations,either offshore or onshore wells. • Wellwork experience in highpressure, high temperature, and toxic gas wells in offshoreenvironment is preferred. - Knowledge and understanding of thefollowing well engineering disciplines : Wellhead, Tree &Surface Equipment, Subsurface Equipment, Cased hole, and ProductionLogging, Well and tubular design, Rigless wellwork equipmentincluding Pressure Control Equipment, Well Barrier requirement. • Familiar with Well Integrity Management : Sustained Casing PressureManagement, Wellhead / X-mas Tree and Down Hole Safety Valve Testing& Maintenance. • IWCF Certified for Well Intervention& Pressure Control (Level-4). • Knowledge and / orExperience - II : - Familiar with Well Integrity Management : Sustained Casing Pressure Management, Wellhead / X-mas Tree and DownHole Safety Valve Testing & Maintenance. • IWCF Certifiedfor Well Intervention & Pressure Control(Level-4).
