You will lead the development for the main business Online Business English Conversation service product enhancement and provide leadership and support for the development team including the development subsidiary in the Philippines.

The content being developed is not complex or largescale. You will be involved in the development of various functions such as backend frontend and web applications collectively with the team. Currently the size of the development team in Japan is small so you will mostly be involved in planning/defining new features in the upstream process Q&A with the business department and smallscale development or maintenance operations that can be completed in a few weeks. In the future we aim to strengthen the development structure on the Japanese side and establish a system where Japanese services are developed by Japanese engineers and Filipino services are developed by Filipino engineers.
Currently we are developing new services that enable online meeting tools and automatic matching between students and instructors.
Team Composition: 40 members (30 in the Philippines/10 in Japan) There are 10 engineers active in Japan with 7 of them being foreign nationals. There may be instances where both English and Japanese are used but as other members can provide support in English there should be no issues if you are not allergic to English. We expect you to take the lead in properly communicating requirements to the development members in the Philippines while actively participating in handson work as well as providing leadership to the team from design to instruction and review.
In addition as we increase the number of Japanese development members and expand our development areas we hope that you will aim for technical specialist or manager positions in the future. Initially we expect you to take the lead in developing the development team technically but please also let us know about your future career aspirations.
