Medical Billing Specialist - Virtual Assistant

Virtual Rockstar is seeking a proactive and detailoriented Virtual Assistant to join our client s physical therapy team. As a Virtual Assistant you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our client s practice by managing various administrative tasks remotely.

Responsibilities:

• Organize and update patient files accurately and efficiently.
  

• Adhere to strict HIPAA regulations to safeguard patient information.
  

• Verify insurance eligibility and coverage for patients prior to appointments.
  

• Work with insurance providers to obtain necessary preauthorizations for treatments and procedures.
  

• Ensure patient files are updated with accurate insurance information.
  

• Communicate with insurance companies to clarify coverage details and resolve any discrepancies.
  

• Monitor the status of pending insurance claims and follow up as needed.
  

• Proactively follow up on unpaid claims to ensure timely payment.
  

• Review denied claims identify reasons for denial and prepare appeals as necessary.
  

Requirements

• Proven experience as a virtual assistant or in a similar administrative role.
  

• Excellent organizational and timemanagement skills.
  

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  

• Proficient in using virtual communication tools such as email chat and video conferencing.
  

• Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with insurance billing processes is a plus.
  

• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
