The Finance Director will lead all financial activities including but not limited to collate financial reporting materials for all donor segments and oversee all financial project/program and grants accounting.
- Oversee budgets disbursing departmental funds manage risk train accounting staff and implement all respective financial policies to optimize and streamline financial processes.
- Create execute and report the company s financial status to executive leadership and key stakeholders responsible for making important decisions about future investments or budgets.
- Analyze and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly and annual financial statements
- Collate financial reporting materials for all donor segments and oversee all financial project/program and grants accounting.
- Coordinate and lead the annual audit process liaise with external auditors and the finance committee of the board of directors; assess any changes necessary.
- Oversee and lead annual budgeting and planning process in conjunction with the ED; administer and review all financial plans and budgets; monitor progress and changes; and keep senior leadership team abreast of the organization s financial status.
- Manage organizational cash flow and forecasting.
- Ensure contract billing and collection schedule is adhered to and that financial data and cash flow are steady and support operational requirements.
- Update and implement all necessary business policies and accounting practices; improve the finance department s overall policy and procedure manual.
- Drive all financial planning by analyzing the company s performance and risks
- Monitor the company s financial position to make prudent financial decisions and address any concerns
- Oversee and make recommendations on the company s finance IT system
- Direct all audit and internal control operations
- Prepare and run all reports on financial performance on a monthly quarterly and annual basis
- Provide forecasts and related reports to executive leadership and key stakeholders
- Safeguard adherence to all financial laws and guidelines
- Examine market trends to reduce financial risks
- Develop budgets for the business including assessing the financial needs for each department s short and longterm goals
- Provide counsel to CEO regarding spending and allocated budget
- Recruit hire and manage critical talent for the finance and accounting departments
Requirements
- Bachelor s degree in accounting finance or relevant field; a Master s Degree or CPA is preferred but not require
- Proven experience as director of finance or similar role
- Ability to translate financial concepts and to collaborate effectively
- A track record in grants management
- Experience selecting and overseeing software installations and managing relationships with software vendors; knowledge of accounting and reporting software
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills with an ability to prioritize negotiate and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
- Indepth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles laws and best practices
- Deep understanding of financial analysis and forecasting
- Intermediate user of MS Office and financial management software (e.g. SAP GrantHub Quickbooks)
