Job Description

Overview

The Receptionist at Power Up Fitness Gym plays a crucial role in providing a warm and welcoming environment for all members and guests. They are the first point of contact for anyone visiting or contacting the gym and as such they represent the organizations commitment to exceptional customer service. The Receptionist ensures that the front desk operations run smoothly efficiently and professionally contributing to a positive experience for all.

Key responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome members and guests with a friendly and professional demeanor.
  • Answer screen and forward incoming calls while providing accurate information.
  • Manage the reception area ensuring it is clean organized and presentable.
  • Handle membership inquiries provide information about gym services and assist with new member signups.
  • Assist in maintaining security by following procedures and controlling access.
  • Process payments for gym services merchandise and memberships.
  • Maintain an organized filing system and manage administrative tasks such as data entry and document preparation.
  • Coordinate and schedule appointments for members and personal trainers.
  • Monitor and maintain office supplies inventory.
  • Assist in resolving any member concerns or issues in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Collaborate with other staff to ensure smooth and efficient gym operations.
  • Assist in organizing and coordinating special events and promotions at the gym.
  • Adhere to all company policies procedures and confidentiality guidelines.
  • Contribute to a positive team environment by fostering open communication and teamwork.
  • Stay updated on gym offerings policies and procedures to provide accurate information to members and guests.

Required qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in a similar customerfacing role is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency in using computer systems and office software.
  • Ability to maintain a polished and professional appearance.
  • Customer service orientation with a positive cando attitude.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and work well under pressure.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts including evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to adapt to a fastpaced and dynamic work environment.
  • Team player with a willingness to assist and support colleagues as needed.
  • Knowledge of fitness industry and gym operations is a plus.
