Senior Staff Accountant

Position Overview:

The Senior Staff Accountant will play a key role in the finance department responsible for overseeing various accounting functions and ensuring compliance with GAAP standards. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles excellent analytical skills and the ability to effectively communicate financial information to stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a senior accounting role and a proven track record of driving process improvements and efficiencies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daytoday accounting operations including accounts payable accounts receivable and general ledger activities
• Prepare and review journal entries accruals and reconciliations
• Analyze financial data and provide insights to management to support decisionmaking
• Assist with monthend and yearend closing processes including the preparation of financial statements
• Ensure compliance with GAAP standards and company policies and procedures
• Coordinate with external auditors and tax consultants during audits and tax filings
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to streamline workflows

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in accounting finance or related field required; CPA certification preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles with at least 3 years in a senior accounting position
• Thorough understanding of GAAP principles and financial reporting requirements
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks Famous SAP) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with crossfunctional teams
• Detailoriented with a high degree of accuracy and integrity
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fastpaced environment
