Job Description

The Estimator is responsible for estimating proposal development and management for public and private construction projects and assembling complete bid packages and proposals to efficiently successfully and profitably obtain and complete assigned construction projects. This position reports to the President.


Responsibilities include:


  • Develop estimates ranging from $200000 $10 million from various types of bid documents and specifications and their key components such as bonding insurance indemnification and damage clauses.
  • Ensure thorough and accurate quantity takeoffs.
  • Thoroughly read plans and specifications and review for accurate scope of work and means & methods assessment.
  • Visit proposed job sites (localregional only)
  • Attend prebid meetings
  • Obtain owner signoff on all bids before submittal
  • Understand and be able to account for factors outside company control which will impact the final bid package


Requirements


  • REQUIRED: 5 years of estimating experience in heavy civil and structures i.e. bridges culverts road reconstruction retaining walls site work underground utilities excavation and earth moving.
  • Proficiency with HCSS Heavy Bid Estimating System preferred
