Job Title: Tooling Technician

Location: Addison IL

Job Type: Direct Hire Full Time

Reports to: Tooling Manager

Overview: We are seeking a detailoriented and experienced Tooling Technician to join our clients' manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will support our production by maintaining repairing and improving tooling and fixtures to ensure optimal operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on tools dies jigs fixtures and molds.
  • Troubleshoot issues with tooling and fixtures to prevent downtime in production.
  • Collaborate with engineers and machinists to develop and modify tool designs to improve production processes.
  • Set up and calibrate precision tools and equipment to ensure accuracy in production.
  • Assist in the implementation of new tools and integration into the manufacturing process.
  • Maintain accurate records of tooling maintenance repairs and modifications.
  • Participate in safety audits and comply with safety procedures in the tool room and on the production floor.
  • Recommend improvements to tool designs based on observations and feedback from production operations.
  • Keep the work area clean and organized to uphold safety and operational standards.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong mechanical and technical skills with a good understanding of tooling and manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency in using and maintaining toolroom equipment and measuring instruments.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Excellent problemsolving skills and the ability to think critically.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; technical certification or degree in tool and die making machining or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Tooling Technician or in a similar role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with computeraided manufacturing (CAM) software is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and practices is desirable.
