Grounds Maintenance Operations Manager

We are recruiting for a Grounds Maintenance Operations Manager on behalf of a growing Grounds Maintenance Service Provider with experience of operationally managing a grounds maintenance service within the local authority social housing commercial and industrial sectors. On offer is a salary of between 40000 and 45000 a year plus bonus company vehicle laptop mobile etc. This job opportunity could suit an already experienced Operations or Contracts manager or and Assistant Manager looking to take that next step in their career. This job offers a mix of home office and office based working.

As the Grounds Maintenance Operations Manager you will be:

• Responsible for ensuring all grounds maintenance projects are completed on time to budget match contractual specifications meet with both their financial and quality requirements and are completed to the Clients satisfaction and in line with priced expectations.
  
• Offering best in sector customer service ensuring all projects are delivered professionally and any remedial works are undertaken quickly and to the customers satisfaction.
  
• Ensuring the financial integrity and resource scheduling of all projects by effective resource scheduling and appropriate procurement of goods and services for projects.
  
• Responsible for the operational team including inductions appraisals motivating and building a strong team with excellent attention to detail skills.
  
• Supporting the senior management and sales teams during pretender meetings and throughout the tender process which could include client facing meetings.
  
• Looking at areas within projects that give scope for margin enhancement. Researching and implementing new ways of working to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  
• Completing site specific risk assessments as well as planning health and safety for all projects.
  
• Ensuring the companies quality standards are maintained and that H&S policies and procedures are adhered to on site.
  
• Responsible for premobilisation site inspections and surveys including risk assessments and sitespecific instructions.
  
• Managing equipment machinery and vehicle allocation including servicing and repairs.
  
• Promoting the wider range of related services the company can offer to help grow additional revenue streams and proactively look for opportunities to quote for additional works.
  
• As needed (to cover sickness and staff holidays) be happy to drop back onto the tools.
  

Requirements

To be considered as the Grounds Maintenance Operations Manager you will need:

• Commercial Grounds Maintenance experience across a variety of customers (schools hospitals business parks housing associations etc.)
  
• A sound horticultural knowledge and a keen interest in learning new ways of working.
  
• A confident but flexible approach with a proactive attitude the ability to cope under pressure and to be keen and enthusiastic to learn if you are looking to take that next step up to being a Manager.
  
• The ability to develop a hardworking detail orientated team of maintenance professionals who will deliver a high quality maintenance service.
  
• Commercial awareness an understanding of budgets P&L and new business development.
  
• Supervisory or Management experience.
  
• Ideally your PA1 and PA6.
  
• Good IT knowledge.
  
• Driving Licence.
  
• A confident but flexible approach with a proactive attitude the ability to cope under pressure and to be keen and enthusiastic to learn if you are looking to take that next step up to being a Manager.
  
• The ability to develop a hardworking detail orientated team of maintenance professionals who will deliver a high quality maintenance service.
  
• Commercial awareness an understanding of budgets P&L and new business development.
