Salary:24000 per annum

Contract: 12month fixedterm contract

The Royal Pharmaceutical Society are looking for a fixed term (12 month) Editorial Assistant to join the team. The Editorial Assistant will provide excellent quality assurance for outputs of the content by processing of postcontent creation tests and data generation and by supporting the editorial procedures that occur in the wider editorial team.

Good attention to detail is essential as they will undertake routine checking procedures involved in production of publications including proof reading and other tasks relevant to the quality assurance of the publication outputs. The Editorial Assistant will be required to meet strict deadlines and build effective working relationships both with colleagues and external partners.

Requirements:

  • A further education qualification in physical or life sciences or other appropriate qualification.
  • Meticulous eye for detail and the ability to work accurately under pressure.
  • Experience in the use of computers and searching of scientific databases and data collection.
  • High efficiency working within a team and individually.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and to organise own workload.
  • Experience of HTML and/or XML desirable.

The Directorate

Pharmaceutical Press is the knowledge business of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society. Were the world leaders in evidencebased pharmaceutical publications and guidance. Pharmacists and other healthcare professionals trust us to provide expert analysis educational support webinars and news that informs supports and enhances their practice. We independently source evaluate and communicate and make practical medicines knowledge accessible worldwide. In the Publishing Directorate the following teams work collaboratively to provide our worldclass products: the Journals team; the Sales and Marketing team; the Technology team; the Product team and the Editorial team (in which this role sits).

The Team

The Support team sit within the wider Editorial team to deliver a variety of both internally and externally authored publications. The Support team work to ensure print and digital outputs of these publications are processed and of a high quality. As a team with a diverse workload we rely on good communication and work in a flexible collaborative way to get the job done.

How we are currently working

RPS supports and works in a hybrid way which means you will be able to work from home however there will be an expectation for collaborative facetoface working on average and typically this may be something between 48 working days per month at our London Office.
