ESE Paraprofessional Immediate Start to Complete the 2023 - 2024 School Year

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide direct support to students with exceptionalities including but not limited to those with autism learning disabilities and emotional or behavioral challenges.
  
• Assist classroom teachers in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and accommodations to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities.
  
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment by promoting student engagement participation and independence.
  
• Collaborate with school staff including teachers therapists and administrators to ensure that students receive appropriate support and services.
  
• Monitor student progress and behavior collect data and communicate effectively with team members to facilitate student success.
  
• Implement behavior management strategies and interventions in accordance with school policies and procedures.
  
• Provide personal care and assistance with activities of daily living as needed to support students physical and emotional wellbeing.
  

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; associates degree or higher preferred.
  
• Previous experience working with students with exceptionalities in an educational or similar setting.
  
• Florida Paraprofessional Certification.
• Knowledge of special education principles practices and strategies for supporting students with diverse learning needs.
  
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish positive relationships with students colleagues and families.
  
• Patience empathy and a genuine passion for helping students overcome challenges and achieve success.
  
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities work collaboratively as part of a team and follow instructions from supervising teachers and administrators.
