Essential Position Requirements

5 years development experience including experience in a senior capacity preferably within the Financial Services or Payments industry

Proven ability on UniVerse systems and UniVerse Basic

Knowledge and understanding of agile software development methodologies and the complete SDLC.

Demonstrated ability to effectively elicit interpret and translate processes and system information from stakeholders into complex technical solutions.

Ability and willingness to work productively and collaboratively as a team member.

Formal qualifications in a relevant discipline (IT Computer Science or Engineering).

Our client based in Brisbane has an exciting opportunity for a Universe Developer to become an integral part of their supporting their IT systems. The person in this position will take an active role getting involved in design, development, maintenance and support to the team particularly focusing on the Universe environment. Tasks and Responsibilities: Supporting the current national environment and playing a hands-on role in the day to day operations Conducting design and code reviews, providing advice and support to the development team Designing, coding, testing and installing software solutions Actively participate in the Disaster Recovery and Business continuity activities, reviews and process improvements Liaising with the business to confirm/clarify business requirements Provide technical input, propose ideas and solutions for service improvement Provide quality applications that are free of defects, fit for purpose, and designed for ongoing ease of support and maintenance Evaluating new technology and software solutions and participate in alternate web development solutions Experience: Mandatory 3+ years experience in a Pick (Universe and/or UniData) environment in a hands-on development or support role both in the Universe and AIX application stacks. Ability to understand the essential needs of internal and external customers, meeting these with well-designed programs and solutions Experience in component and assembly testing Knowledge of common debugging techniques Essential Skills: Strong programming aptitude Committed to delivering high quality work Ability to understand business issues related to the financial services industry to deliver a solution accordingly Good problem solving and communications skills
