Job Title: Python Data Engineer

Top Skills Details: MidSenior Python Data Engineer hybrid data/software engineer with data engineering aspects (ETL and EMR) and software engineering (API development with Python). Can work remotely from anywhere in the US but must be on 10am EST stand up.

Required Skills:

• Experience in developing Spark applications using PySpark
• Handson experience with ETL processing (ETL processing from scratch using PySpark)
• Good working knowledge of AWS S3 and RDS
• Good understanding and handson experience with any documentbased database like MongoDB or AWS DocumentDB
• Experience with EMR clusters
• Handson experience with REST API development (API development with Python)
• Experience with Python coding is a musthave
• Be flexible and thrive in an evolving environment
• Developer able to work independently with some guidance motivated to learn

Project Details: Exam Modernization Project

• Pain points for examiners include the need to go through 10 other apps in FINRA to find all information regarding the fund they are working on.
• Project aims to bring analytics and visualizations to the exam workspace so that all data an examiner needs is in one place.
• The person will look into collected data and expose it to other apps and users in FINRA for decisionmaking (ETL and EMR experience needed).
• Will work on creating ETL jobs to convert JSON files into structured data models to be pushed to the data lake for other users to query.
• Once the process is established the focus will be on enhancements (API experience Python for API development).
• ETL: Building new ETL and data pipelines from scratch and maintaining them once created everything they are doing is new and created from the ground up from an infrastructure perspective.
