Job Description

Title: Patient Care Technician

Location: Rancho Mirage CA

Duration: 3 Months (Temp to Hire)

  • Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
  • Following standard work assists patients to exam/procedure rooms; obtains patient reported medical and social history vital signs and height and weight as needed patient reported allergy information and medication reconciliation information and records data in EHR.
  • Transcribes orders into the HER such as films xray labs and other studies as appropriate timely and accurately.
  • Processes patient referrals to other provider offices.
  • Prepares patient EMR charts timely and accurately.
  • Gathers reports labs studies or other data pertinent to upcoming patient appointments.
  • Faxes and copies necessary information to insurance companies other provider offices and other facilities as necessary.
  • Records information accurately and timely in the EHR.
  • Takes phone messages.
  • Prepares charts for clinic.
  • Works inbasket messages and work queues.
  • Maximizes use of free time between preparing patients and other tasks to clean and stock rooms copy documents and filing.
  • Obtains provider or patient signatures on appropriate documents.
  • Assists with medical and office supply inventory and ordering.
  • Follows the identified dress code and safety protocols to ensure patient and employee safety.
  • Maintains and practices professional boundaries with all patient and coworker interactions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills:

1. Competently administers all department procedures modalities programs and protocols consistent with training written and oral communication skills.

2. Requires effective communication skills in dealing with patients families and coworkers..

Licensure/Certification

Required: American Heart Association BLS
