API Developer

Job Title: API Developer

Contract Duration: 6 months with potential for extension

Location: Remote but must be willing to work PST hours

Visa Restrictions: None (H1Bs must be held by your firm no subcontractors or sister companies)

Top 3 Must Have Skills:

• Minimum 3 years experience as a API developer within a healthcare payer (i.e. health insurance) environment
• Experience with REST APIs JSON XML Parsing
• Experience with JIVA or QNXT highly preferred

• Use software engineering bestpractices to create custom APIs and interfaces between systems
• utilized for claims processing utilization management and authorizations.
• Examine current issues or problems with interfaces and APIs including issues with data flow/communication and incorrect results from API calls.
• Provide recommendations for remediation or solutions to key stakeholders within the organization.
• Help translate business needs into technical requirements and action plans for development.
• Interface with multiple business units as needed to ensure timely resolution to identified API challenges or problems.
• Keep management team and project sponsors abreast of status through regular updates.
• Work with implementation and QA teams postdevelopment to ensure seamless implementation.

• 3 years of prior experience developing APIs within a healthcare payer (i.e. health insurance)
• environment. Experience creating REST APIs
• Experience working with JSON
• Experience with Retrieval and Submission of data to APIs
• Experience with XML Parsing
• Excellent Communication Skills
• Prior experience working within the Agile/Scrum methodology.
• Experience with JIVA and/or QNXT highly preferred.
