Mobile Health Team Inc. a staffing agency has an opening for an RN Operating Room / Circulation & Scrub. We are looking for someone with a passion for people.

Location: Corvallis OR 97330

Assignment Start Date: 2/29/2024

13 weeks Varied 8 or 10hour shift 2024 hours per week with 20 hours guaranteed weekly

Provides safe quality patient care in the Intraoperative area. Accountable for assessing planning implementing and coordinating patient care during intraoperative period.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Will participate and maintain a culture within The Corvallis Clinic that is consistent with the content outlined in the Service and Behavioral Standards as stated in the Policy and Procedures. To this end employees will be expected to read have familiarity and embrace the principles contained within.
  • Assesses patient status during the preop interview and continuing.
  • Provides safe therapeutic quality care to patients by utilizing the nursing process and nursing diagnosis promptly and by setting appropriate priorities. Documents interventions and patients responses.
  • Ensures the provision of patient care in an organized and timely manner.
  • Utilizes nursing care standards when planning and implementing patient care.
  • Communicates appropriate information regarding patient conditions to those who require the information including surgeons anesthesia management and other staff.
  • Safely carry out physicians orders correctly and promptly documenting all activities.
  • Assist Anesthesia staff as needed.
  • Displays an understanding of each patients cognitive physical emotional and chronological maturity in assessments treatment and care.
  • Participate in the orientation and training of new employees.
  • Maintains competencies to function in an RN role within a specific area.
  • Protect sedated and anesthetized patients by identifying safety hazards such as electrical equipment and pressure points and by minimizing exposure to maintain privacy and body temperature.
  • Expertise in safety principles asepsis sterile technique and universal precautions.
  • Assesses anticipates and implements appropriate care throughout the surgical process.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATION

Experience:

  • Minimum of one year OR experience; multispecialty preferred; CNOR preferred.
  • One or more years of experience in an acute care hospital is preferred.
  • MUST HAVE Ambulatory Surgery Center Experience

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of registered nursing expected

Licenses Certifications and/or Registration:

  • Current unencumbered State of Oregon license as a Registered Nurse
  • Current CPR certification ACLS or ability to obtain ACLS within six (6) months of hire date
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS/BCLS) certification
  • PALS certification preferred

EMR System: Athena experience preferred

Shift: MF (8 or 10hour shifts TBD by staffing manager) 20 24hour work week except holidays clinic closures and first training week. Guaranteed hours do not apply if the clinic is closed for any reason or the candidate voluntarily calls out. only hours worked apply. Hours worked also applies for the initial training week which may be less than 20 hours.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to manage emergencies in a calm and confident manner
  • Demonstrated flexibility and leadership with unscheduled procedure changes
  • Organize prioritize delegate and assign duties to nonlicensed personnel
  • Maintain skills in equipment usage and troubleshooting
  • Complete knowledge and understanding of perioperative nursing care in the freestanding ambulatory surgery center
  • Evidence of working knowledge of the nursing process
  • Knowledge of basic clinical skills to provide patient care
  • Ability to work well with providers clinical staff and patients
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously in a busy fastpaced environment while maintaining quality of work
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures including but not limited to standards for confidentiality Infection Control Safety (OSHA) Attendance Personal Electronic Equipment Punctuality and Personal Appearance.
  • Participates in Quality Improvement activities including identification of opportunities for cost reductions and efficiencies.
