Sr Configuration Engineer with EDI 270 and 271 Exp

Requires an BA/BS degree in Information Technology Computer Science or related field of study and a minimum of 4 years of IT experience including application development experience; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.

• BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• 8 years to be designated as senior and solid experience with AWS.
• 4 years of agile cloud development and/or operational engineering experience
• 4 years serving as an IT systems expert using automation tools to monitor and observe software reliability in the production environment.
• Excellent coding and development skills.
• Experience using a container orchestrator to run containerized applications.
• Expertise in configuration management and tools for automating software workflows
• Handson experience with applications supported by Postgres databases.
• Experience with application monitoring tools including Splunk and New Relic.
• Experience with development and maintenance using GitHub and Jenkins.
• Experience working in agile environments using tools like JIRA Confluence and Slack.
• Experience working with AWS ecosystem and related tools and technologies.
• Able to obtain a U.S. Federal Position of Trust clearance designation.
• Serve as an IT systems/application expert using automation tools to monitor and observe software reliability in the production environment.
• Monitor software performance in terms of servicelevel agreements (SLAs) servicelevel indicators (SLIs) and servicelevel objectives (SLOs). Observe and monitor performance metrics after deploying the application in production environments.
• Identify problems in software and solution code to fix these issues working closely with the development team to stabilize production systems.
• Work with the development team to ensure new features are designed and deployed to meet the system reliability and performance objectives.
• Work with the DevOps team to develop proactive and preventative automated measures such as capacity planning performance tuning and implementing infrastructure as code.
• Support operations and production support work including emergency incident response change management and IT infrastructure management
• Leverage modern cloudbased tools to facilitate and automate monitoring observation and configuration management.
• Create an SRE process for incorporation in the documentation of production support procedures.
• Work with the Production Support team to be on hand to support escalated issues and contribute to production support; categorize the severity of reported cases and deal with them promptly.
• Contribute to and facilitate postincident reviews to improve the software and the development lifecycle.
• Document software problems and respective solutions in a shared operations manual or knowledge base for responding to similar issues in the future.
• Perform as a great team player and solve challenges as part of a team.
