Name of position: Senior Front End Software Engineer
Location: Richmond VA
Note: Its Hybrid position
The Virginia Office of Data Governance and Analytics is an exciting new agency under the Secretary of Administration. The agency s primary focus is Data Sharing and Data Governance. The agency manages the Commonwealth Data Trust to facilitate data sharing across the Commonwealth and its partners; and provides administrative support to the Commonwealth Data Commission Executive Data Board Data Governance Council and Data Stewards Group. In addition the Office of Data Governance and Analytics (ODGA) will provide guidance support oversight and technical assistance to data trust member agencies and Commonwealth organizations in the implementation of data governance sharing security and analytics projects.
Responsibilities:
- Understand and translate business needs into software solutions that support longterm ODGA projects and goals.
- Demonstrate technical solutions by developing documentation flowcharts layouts diagrams charts code comments and clear code.
- Design develop modify and support software components from all areas of the ODGA s technical stack.
- Work with Clients or internal ODGA management to develop the overall look and design of web applications.
- Determine root cause for complex software issues and develop practical efficient and permanent technical solutions.
- Serve as a technical lead contributing to and directing the efforts of development teams including internal and external team members.
- Assist in planning estimating and scheduling of tasks and upcoming projects.
- Participate in contribute to and continuously improve the ODGA s agile software development processes.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines for automating code integration and deployments of software applications.
- Remain current on new technologies and available vendor packages; evaluate and make recommendations as necessary.
- Work in close partnership with crossfunctional teams and management.
Skills Required
At least 7 years of experience with one or more .NET languages (e.g. C# Visual Basic .NET) and HTML5/CSS3.
Proficient in modern FrontEnd Web Application Development including Angular React Vue TypeScript JavaScript CSS etc.
Experience in developing ASP.NET MVC and ASP.NET Core MVC applications.
Familiarity with RESTful APIs and asynchronous request handling.
Familiarity with Kendo UI is a plus.
Familiarity with Azure Web Apps.
At least 3 years of experience in querying analyzing and working with data languages and platforms (SQL) to investigate large and diverse data sets.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work cross teams and collaborate with others
Solid debugging testing and problemsolving skills
Experience in SIT and UAT test scenario and Test Case development Experience in Test data preparation and Test Execution Experience with SQL queries Experience in test result validation Experience with accuracy, completeness, and reliability of data during the Test Execution Experience in defect tracking Experience with metrics reporting Effective Communication and Collaboration Familiarity with claims processing software Exposure to large scale systems
