Safety Officer

Roles and Responsibilities: • Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with local and international safety standards, regulations, and best practices relevant to the oil and gas industry in Qatar. • Safety Audits and Inspections: Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments of work areas, equipment, and procedures to identify potential hazards and risks. • Safety Training: Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees, contractors, and site personnel, emphasizing best safety practices and emergency procedures. • Incident Investigation: Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, or near-misses, analyze root causes, and recommend preventive measures to avoid recurrence. • Safety Policies and Procedures: Develop, review, and update safety policies, procedures, and manuals in line with industry standards and regulatory requirements. • Safety Reporting: Maintain accurate records of safety-related incidents, prepare reports, and communicate findings to management for corrective actions. • Emergency Response Planning: Develop and implement emergency response plans, conduct drills, and ensure readiness for responding to emergencies effectively. • Safety Culture Promotion: Promote a culture of safety awareness and compliance among all staff members, fostering a safe and healthy work environment. • Collaboration: Collaborate with internal departments, contractors, and regulatory bodies on safety-related matters, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Qualifications and Requirements: • Qualified engineering graduate with degree certificate from a recognized University. Good in English. • 5+ years of experience as a Safety Officer in the oil and gas industry. • Profound knowledge of safety regulations, standards, and best practices in the oil and gas sector. • Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) is preferred. • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Salary: Up to QAR8,000.00 per month Education: • Bachelor's (Required) Experience: • oil and gas: 5 years (Required) • post qualification: 3 years (Required) License/Certification: • Qatar Driving License (Required) • Client Approval - E.g (QE Approval) (Required) Ability to Commute: • Doha (Required)
